company history

Our roots run back to the founding of Trendar by Ernie Betancourt, a visionary who worked to reduce the many fees present within the trucking industry. As a new fuel processing system that first connected carriers with truck stops, Trendar aimed to simplify the process and drive out inefficiencies. Ernie eventually took ownership of Innovative Computing Corp, perfecting their transportation management system for mid to large carriers before founding QuikQ.

From our beginnings using RFID technology to process fuel transactions, we have grown to become a full-service fuel payment solutions provider. We are led by a seasoned management team, assembled from both inside and outside of the industry, with experience in fleets, fuel cards and transportation management software systems.

Dean Troester - Chief Executive Officer

Dean has 34 years of experience in over-the-road trucking industry experience in financial, accounting and analytics. He was instrumental in setting up key analytics including profitability of customer lanes, operations and driver score cards. He also served on various trucking industry accounting and IT software advisory boards.

For 23 years, he worked as the Chief Financial Officer for Crete Carrier Corp, a leader in the trucking industry. Prior to that he was VP of Finance for Sunflower Carriers, a refrigerated subsidiary of Crete. Dean began his career at Miller & Moore, CPA’s in Lincoln, NE, while obtaining his CPA license. He graduated summa cum laude from Wayne State College.

Tony McAlister - Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer

Tony has more than 37 years of experience in high-growth start-ups and large corporations, including mergers, acquisitions, IPOs and leveraged strategic alliances.

Before joining QuikQ, McAlister served as Chief Technology Officer at Betfair, an Internet betting exchange, and previously was the COO, CTO and CIO at Motricity, a provider of mobile content services and solutions processing. Earlier in his career, McAlister was the CIO at Vodafone, a Fortune 500 international wireless communications provider, and served as CTO at an early-stage startup providing investment services and in senior management roles at several e-commerce businesses.

Vince Peschio - Vice President/Chief Technology Officer

Vince has been involved in software development since graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Old Dominion University. With more than 30 years of experience, he has witnessed first-hand the evolution of computer technology, from mainframes to personal computers and from assembler programming languages to 4GL languages.

Prior to QuikQ, Vince served as the Director of Development for Innovative Computing Corporation. Before entering the trucking software industry, he worked in health care assisting a variety of medical-based companies with their information system and software needs, including serving as the regional CIO for Community Health Systems in Virginia.

Tamara WilsonVice President Business Development

Tamara has more than 35 years of experience in Transportation Management both in the United States and Canada. Her IT, Operations, Sales and Management experience is a benefit to QuikQ and its growing customer base. Prior to joining the company in 2014, she held executive management posts as Vice President of Operations at MPH Transportation, CIO/Vice President Gainey Corporation, Director of IT SLH Transport and National Sales Representative for Innovative Computing Corporation.

Jim Stewart – Vice President Operations

Jim has more than 30 years of experience in Information Technology and Business Operations.  

Prior to QuikQ, Jim served as the Director of the IT&S PMO at HCA where he was responsible for a portfolio of projects reaching well into 9 digits. Other prior positions Jim has held: VP of Operations for Ingram Publisher Services, VP of Customer Systems with Ingram Book, and Director of Fulfillment for Buy.com

Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics/Computer Science from Appalachian State University and an MBA from MTSU.

Travis Konemann - Director of Finance & Accounting

Travis has 14 years of experience working with technology companies, including 9 years in transaction processing within the transportation industry.  He began his career in public accounting at KPMG and led both financial and technology audits across multiple industries.  Travis was also previously Controller for Comdata Corporation, a provider of fleet management and B2B payment solutions.  Prior to QuikQ, he was Senior Manager with Asurion, a global leader providing insurance, warranties and value-added technology support solutions for mobile devices, other electronics and home appliances.

Travis graduated summa cum laude from Murray State University.  He holds both a Masters of Professional Accountancy and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Computer Information Systems.
