Cardless transactions are secure with Fuel Island Manager.
|
There are many different types of RFID tags. The need for security varies
with the application. Where security is a concern, then tags are available with
varying degrees of security. The Fuel Island Manager uses a tag with multiple
layers of security. The EPC Gen 2 passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) RFID
tag, referred to as the "Gen-2 tag," is one of the most secure RFID
tags currently available. The security difference between this tag and other RFID
tags is comparable to the safety difference between a Volvo with side curtain airbags and
a Model T. The RFID tag used by the Fuel Island Manager™ system has an
integrated circuit "silicon" chip built in that allows for multiple
security layers. The Fuel Island Manager uses the tag only to initiate a
transaction, not to authorize it.
Multiple Security layers
Summary The Fuel Island Manager™ is designed to initiate a fuel transaction in a secure and efficient manner. DFConnect™, QuikQ's transaction processing software adds additional layers of security. The end result is arguably the most secure fuel transaction processing system available today.
